CFIT joins CODES as co-lead of Sustainable Procurement and Green Digital Infrastructure initiative

The Circular and Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact has joined CODES as co-lead of Impact Initiative 5 on Sustainable Procurement and Green Digital Infrastructure, strengthening the initiative’s focus on practical implementation and international alignment.

The initiative sits within CODES’ Mitigate agenda and aims to advance more consistent approaches to sustainable procurement and green digital infrastructure across governments, public organisations and other stakeholders. By bringing procurement expertise into the initiative, the collaboration will help connect shared sustainability principles with the practical decisions organisations make when procuring digital products, infrastructure and services.

CFIT brings experience in developing common procurement frameworks, recommendations and implementation guidance for circular, fair and sustainable ICT. The collaboration also reflects the changing digital landscape, with the initiative increasingly considering not only ICT hardware, but also data centres, cloud services, software and AI.

Through this partnership, CODES and CFIT will work to strengthen international alignment, support practical implementation and provide clearer signals to the digital market on sustainability expectations.
